Hi mom,  I'm sorry the tennis tournament didn't turn out that well with the rain.  It is great that Ryan won his spelling bee he can definitely spell better than I can now.  There are a few movies that we can ask permission to watch, Some Disney ones. I did get your package yesterday and everything was great I will do a voice recording for next week so brookie can know that I respond to her and I am still her favorite. Keep giving me conference talks whenever you have them. This week we couldn't teach Franco because he started working but Luciano the second counselor has been in contact we him and has let us known that Franco has started reading a little from the book of Mormon.  There are a few pictures this week from a baptism in our ward. An haitiano named Junior got baptized this past Saturday.  Elder Medina and Elder Riofano the other two elders in our ward with us were teaching him.  Junior is a super cool happy guy and because he o...

Yeah valentine`s day is a thing here but it is not like it is celebrated by the general population, just couples.   I haven`t got the package yet but hopefully it gets here soon. I did watch the Disney movie Moana last week for p-day and that made me thing about Hawaii and Samoa.   I really like Chile a lot but sometimes the trash and barb wire doesn`t feel like me. watching that movie mad me want to go be a beach bum in Hawaii:)  You would be sooo proud of me if you saw how I eat now.  A chilean salad is just tomatoes with onions and oil and they eat tomatoes with a lot of other things too so I eat tomatoes now.  I actually love peppers too and I cook those with my eggs.   I already went back into Santiago and finished my visa and this last part was a lot faster. I did send some pictures this week but I will try to take more for this next week.  Even though we have a little more time pdays we still get the same amoun...

Week #27 February 8, 2016

Hi mom Yeah the wait for the visa was pretty long and terrible but tasting American food almost made it worth it. I actually ordered a pizza sandwich with pepperoni, red sauce and cheese. I even ordered it with lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. you would have been so proud of me.    One of the main changes in the schedule for us is that now we don`t plan our day the night before. We now do it in the morning so we can now just get home and chill and not have to worry about doing anything.  And then the next morning we plan and do personal study.  We then leave the house at 11am to start working and the other change is that now we decide when to all the other things like companionship study and language study throughout the day.  The stats that we have as missionaries also changed.  Now we report a lot less. We don`t report lessons anymore.  We just report baptisms confirmations, people with a baptism date, and investigators that went to ch...

Week #26, February 1, 2017

Hey mom. I can`t believe that federer pulled out another grand slam. I think this definitely helps his case as the best of all time.  It will be interesting to see what happens at the french open if nadel is back playing pretty well too.  I hadn`t heard anything about this because the only thing Latinos care about or can play is futbol (soccer).  But I bet  you were pretty excited when he won at 4:30 in the morning.  I wish I could watch that match. The fires keep burning in Chile but they aren`t too close us and we are surrounded by a lot of people so they couldn`t ever get close.  There is always smoke in the sky though and it is all that anyone talks about because there have been so many fires and everybody has someone close to the fires.    Thanks for all the pictures from Disneyland this week.  It looked liked you guys had a lot of fun especially brookie.  I bet she loved all the big roller coasters.   ...

Week #25 January 25,2017

We got the following letter from his mission President about the fires in Chile.   Dear Parents,                 We want to let you know that even though there are many fires right now in Chile, our mission is ok. There are not any fires close by our mission and your children are safe. We are taking the procedures necessary to protect them from the air. The air conditions in this moment are ok, but during times when there are high smoke levels, the missionaries are entering their apartments or the chapels. Sadly, many of the people in the south, where all the forests are, have been severely affected, and have lost everything. Please remember them in your prayers. In all of Chile, there are donations to help those that are being affected. Take care! Hey mom I hope you are enjoying the heat in California because I`m stilling dying in it. Right now there are a bunch of fires all around Chile...

Hey mom I`m glad you are loving the cold so much because I`m still dying in the heat. Yesterday I got changed out of El Bosque to a different ward. I found out on Thursday and it was a complete surprise because president had already let Elder De leòn know that he would be changed for his last month in the mission so I was assuming that I would be staying with a different companion. But I found out Saturday that I was leaving too and two completely knew missionaries would be coming into the ward. I got changed to the ward Los Raulies which is actually very close to my old ward in the same stake. My new companion is a gringo from Arkansas named Elder Gehring. I`m excited for the new opportunity but I was sad to leave a couple people in El Bosque, mostly Hermano Jamie the ward mission leader and Gabriel.   The cool thing is, is that I know the two new missionaries going to my old ward. It is elder beard my companion in the mtc and Elder Parra who is from our same g...

Hey mom this week I sent one picture so there should at least be something.  One of the best of this week was on Sunday was when Gabriel received the aaronic priesthood.  This was also cool because he came to church alone with out any members of perez family.  This morning I also went to the Chile temple for the first time.  We have had to wake up early and travel for an hour and a half smashed against the walls in the crowded buses and metro but it was super cool when we got there. The temple is pretty small.  There is just one floor but it was a really cool experience.  It was cool to go back and do a session in Spanish but now when I can actually understand it well, because I went to the temple in Mexico but at that time I was just picking out a few words here and there.  Everything else is good and thanks for the email.
