Week #27 February 8, 2016

Hi mom
Yeah the wait for the visa was pretty long and terrible but tasting American food almost made it worth it. I actually ordered a pizza sandwich with pepperoni, red sauce and cheese. I even ordered it with lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. you would have been so proud of me.

One of the main changes in the schedule for us is that now we don`t plan our day the night before. We now do it in the morning so we can now just get home and chill and not have to worry about doing anything.  And then the next morning we plan and do personal study.  We then leave the house at 11am to start working and the other change is that now we decide when to all the other things like companionship study and language study throughout the day.  The stats that we have as missionaries also changed.  Now we report a lot less. We don`t report lessons anymore.  We just report baptisms confirmations, people with a baptism date, and investigators that went to church.  All these changes pretty much gave missionaries more freedom with more trust in them.  Now the can chose when to do things to get the best results, being their own agents.

I haven`t been updated recently on the fires but I think they are still going on but the are all control now and should be out soon.

My new area is very close to my old ward so it is not too different here but maybe just a little poorer. Our whole mission is part of Santiago but it is a ways away from the center so no one who has ever visited Santiago has gone to this area. Right now we have found some people but no one that has progressed a lot or is far in the teaching process. It is some times really hard to find people consistently here because everyone work so much and especially right now everyone leaves to the beach for vacations.

Things are going really well with my new companion. It is very fun living in a house with 4 missionaries. The other missionaries in our house speak french as well so they teach all the haitianos that live here. Me and my companion are trying to eat healthy but it is super hard because the chilenos are so unhealthy. All they eat is bread and soda so a lot of time so we can`t control how healthy we eat. Last week for p-day we did go to a really good supermarket and bought a lot of healthy stuff but the only problem is that eating healthy is a lot more expensive especially here so now I have no money left.

Thanks for the email and have a great week

This is the email he wrote to Lauren (his 11 year old sister).  I thought it was pretty funny trying to guess the questions she asked him.

Hi Lauren the two main things I eat are rice and chicken and noodles and beans. and with a lot of bread and soda. Today for p-day we watched the Disney movie movie moana. I haven`t seen the trolls movie but I do like bunnies.
