Elder Nate Austin

Hi mom!! My Birthday was pretty normal during the day but at night i at some ice cream with some other missionaries so I did something at least.  Tells brookie that I`ll carry her up the mountain when I get back, but when I get back she probably be big enough to walk up herself.  I know I`m hoping the tio nacho shampoo works because my hair is depressively dark. I`ll let you know how it goes.  nooo my rug. RYAN!! well I guess you can just give me a new rug instead of a bed when I get back.  My package did get here during the week and everything was there so you don`t need to worry about it because it got here and pretty fast too. Hi! Yes I have been using my coat and I have been staying warm but I`m still not desperate enough to use a scarf or gloves. I don`t think I will need another blanket.  We have these things called calienta cama (Bed warmer). It goes below the sheets on the mattress and it warms up the bed so I sleep very warm. The only hard thing is forcing yourself out of that in the morning.    My talk at church last week went good, I talked about the plan of salvation.    We don`t give Spanish class but some of the missionaries do teach a lot of Spanish classes. I think Spanish classes are a lot more useful than English classes. We do teach Spanish to junior once a week and we also teach Gina too.    Gina is doing alright she didn`t come to church this past week but we have an appointment with her tonight.  I think it will take a little while for her to get baptized but hopefully she will get there.    Today for pday we went...

hey mom! Hey that is cool that you talked to someone from my mission do you remember the guys name? Maybe I`ve heard of him.    Gina is doing pretty good she is progressing little by little.  Because of the language barrier and other stuff it will probably take a little while longer for her to get baptized but she is slowly getting there. Right now we don`t actually have any chileno investigators.    Well the bishop wasn`t technically less active because less active means someone goes 3 months without attending. So he was active just not as reliable as you would usually expect from a bishop but he has really stepped up as well since he has been called.  In this ward we speak once a month so we will speak next Sunday . hey mom its great that you guys are enjoying summer and you have your tomatoes. I don`t know what it will be like to eat them with you when I get back since I`m only used to eating tomatoes in chile so maybe I won`t like tomatoes in the US.  You`ll have to let me know how california and josh`s wedding goes.  It is still going to be weird that he is married, I still haven`t seen him and now he changed.  This past week we weren`t able to find Jefferson but this past week we taught Gina the other Haitian. We taught her at church during the classes. 1 we had to take advantage of being with Benisoit so he could help and 2 she wouldn't understand anything anyway if she went to the classes so it was a win win.  In that lesson we set a baptism date with her.  We also got a new bishop called this sunday. This past week we got a new investigator named Jefferson, he is a Haitian.  He actually lived in the other sector and when I was in that trio a little while but with E Medina and E Concecao we went and taught a Haitian in their sector and Jefferson was living there two and came up and talked to me because he spoke a little english and I`m obviously gringo. The other guys in the other side of the ward started teaching him a little bit but then he moved and they couldn't`t find him but we found him in our sector and now he is ours and we are teaching him now. We taught him in spanish though even though he speaks a little english because he speaks spanish ok too. and so I can teach him with my comp we have to do it in spanish and I actually don`t know how to teach in english either.  This week we also found out about changes and I will be staying here with E topalda for another change. so I will be here for at least another 6 weeks.  I send some pictures thi...

It was great talking to Nathan on Sunday.  We got to talk to him for about 2 hours.  He also bore his testimony in Spanish. In my letter this week I told him I found the Mother's Day card he wrote me from last year.  It said  "Happy Mother's Day.....for Mother's day I am going to go one week without complaining. love, Nathan"  Hey greatest mom -that was a pretty great mothers day card that I gave you last year.  but look at my improvement 10 months without complaining.  Well I just talked to yall and nothing much has happened since I talked to you because I got sick and actually right I after I finished talking in the skype I lost my voice and couldn`t talked but today I am feeling better so don`t worry!! :)  We did have the zone conference yesterday and for the meeting the theme was the importance of the holy ghost in missionary work. I`m going to write longer letters but there isn`t much to say this week but next week...

This week its been colder but all the chilenos think we are in Antarctica, everyone is getting mad at me when its slightly cloudy and I don`t walk out like like and Eskimo.  I got my package yesterday!
