hey mom.  maria and juan are doing very good maria is down to get baptized but juan is stilling deciding himself. They are moving in two Saturdays but within the zone but they won´t be able to get baptized before that because we have to teach them more and they have to attend church at least 3 times before. but everything has been going really good with them.  Today we had a very fun pday. President Gwilliam organized a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. We got together as the south side of the mission today and the north side will also do it and the winners will play each other. My team won today so we will be playing the winners from the north in a couple pdays.  We are having a really good time here.  This past week i have been reading nuestro legado (Our legacy?) but its the book that talks about the history of the church and about all the Prophets. I have really liked it.  thanks for everything  i love you  Elder Austin ...

Week #84 March 15, 2018

hi  sorry this email is a little late. This past Saturday Alejandra was baptized and on Sunday  she was confirmed. She has know for a while that she wanted to get baptized and that the church is true but just wasn't´t able to stop smoking.  They find the hoarder houses from nonmembers usually. And it was super hard for the guy he kept getting made and digging through the trash to get his stuff out.    This week we had a really cool experience. we were walking and saw two hermanas from the ward and we went over to talk to them and while we were talking with him a friend of one of the ladies came over and talked to us and one of the sisters invited her friend to have us go over with her to visit her. So later that week we went over to teach them and we have now taught them twice both times with both the members present.  The friends name is maria jose and we are also teaching her husband juan carlos.  So we are actually teaching a famil...

This week a senior couple posted some pictures on face book from a service project they did. hi hows it going?  We totally have our own hoarding show down here. The senior missionaries work with the city and find a lot of houses like that and the missionaries take them apart. The only problem is that almost everyone here has a little hoarder in them. As we were throwing all the stuff away several people walked by and wanted to take the trash.  Alejandra stopped smoking about 2 weeks ago and she is going to get baptized this Saturday. She has been investigating the church for like 12 years and just now is going to be able to be baptized. Yeah everyone one here smokes. I am 99% sure i have second hand smoking.  Today we went to the temple we were going to go to a session at 9 but we didn't´t make it on time.  And it wasn't´t my fault mom, we left at like  7:15  but the buses and public trans...

Week #82 February 28, 2018

Hey hows it going?  Here is a little run down of things that happened this week... Thursday. We had interviews with president  Friday : We had the council meeting with president, all the zone leaders and the assistants. after I did divisions with Elder Burnett he got to the mission the same time as I did.  Saturday: Was a pretty normal day. That night we had correlation with our new ward mission leader. Sunday : We went to church, at church I taught the principles of the gospel class about prophets and then I taught the priesthood class about the Sabbath day and the sacrament.  Later that day we were walking on the side of the road and some guys that were driving by in the back of a drunk dumped coke on us. I was standing closer to the road so most of it hit me. I was pretty mad.  Monday : WE had divisions with the assistants. I stayed in my sector with Elder Grau from Spain. It was a really fun division. Tuesday : We had our district meet...

Week #80 February, 15, 2018

hi!  Well the highlight of this past week was yesterday when Elder Christofferson and his wife came to our mission. The meeting was supposed to start at  10:00am  but when we got to the mission office at 8:15  there was already a bunch of missionaries there and like at 8:30  the mission Rancagua showed up. Then Elder Christofferson got there along with Elder Bragg a seventy from the area presidency with there wives. We all got to go up and shake their hands and then they started the meeting.  At the meeting the 2 mission presidents and there wives gave shorter testimonies.   After Elder Bragg and His wife and then Elder Christofferson and his wife spoke.  Some interesting things that I liked. Of the two mission presidents, a seventy and an apostle and all their wives I am pretty sure not one of them didn`t mention the book of mormon.  I think pretty much every leader in the church has been talking about it so i t...

Hi, how is it going. Things have been going good, Elder Gowers was my first comp in my last ward parque combarbabla. Being a zone leader is pretty fun we have to go to more meetings but its cool. Last week I forgot to tell you that we had a council meeting with Elder Texiera the area president and the other zone leaders. The best part is that they give us papa johns after the council meetings so that right there it is worth it. The ward appears to be pretty good though, it is a really big sector though. It is pretty much at the edge of santiago so there are some fields and open space. But we mainly just stay with in the main more populated part because there aroun`t as many houses out far and it takes a while to walk there. On sunday something really cool happened. We had got to church and we were waiting for it to start and Junior came in the church (the first junior haitiano that was in the ward los raulies not the Junior I just taught in my last ward) and turns out he had just moved...
