Week #47 June, 28, 2018
hey mom I did eat 5 plates of sushi and it was pretty good. Santiago center is pretty dang cool we have to take advantage when we have visa things to do or when we go to the temple.
The package that you sent we was perfect I liked everything you sent. The fitbit works. I usually get about 20,000 steps every day. which is about 10 miles so we walk a good amount. it also tells me that I burn about 3,500 calories everyday too. but its pretty cool .I like it.
To what city is megan going to in the Dominican republic. If I ask around with the hatians I can probably find a connection to there. I also hear that Dominicans cut hair pretty well so maybe i`ll have to hit them up on of these weeks in her honor.
My companion has been in the mission for about a year and a half and I am fairly confident that I`m going. I should be going at least because I already have 6 months in the sector and the entire mission in the zone. I did ask president about this in our interview and he hinted to me that i`ll probably be going.
This past sunday we had an exciting day. We went out in the morning and went by gina our investigators house to bring her to church. And we went with her and her little baby Catalia to the church. She had commented to us the Catalia was a little sick. So we arrived at church a little late and right after the sacrament Catalia started crying and Gina took her out of the chapel and a little while later we followed her out to see how she was doing. We were talking to her and Catalia was still crying and a couple members came out too. Well it turns out that Catalia was pretty sick and she was having a hard time breathing. There is also a doctor place right by the church so we told her to go there right away, and at this point junior (the haitian) walked out of the chapel and we grabbed him and told him to go the the doctor with Gina. So he went with her and we went back into church. Towards the end of church Junior called us and told us that Calalia hadn't`t improved and they were going to send her to the hospital in ambulance, but he wanted us to come help him because he didn't`t understand everything. So we ran over to the doctor place and they told us that Catalia`s lungs were really blocked up and the were going to send her to a hospital that is pretty close by in ambulance. but there was only space for one more person in the ambulance and we couldn't`t split up so we sent junior again. After that we first went and warned the haitians that gina lives with that Gina and Catalia were at the hospital and later we went with someone from the ward to go see her in the hospital and to see what we could do to help. Right now Gina is in a pretty tough situation because she doesn`t speak almost any spanish and she doesn`t have work or money and the other problem is is that is isn`t member so the church is a little restricted in the help that it can give because there are too many other people and haitians that would need this help. Right now Catalia is still in the hospital but a little better and he have done what we can to help with the members by bringing diapers and food to gina. Gina is just in a really bad situation in chile right now, because she came here alone and has a six month old baby and hasn`t learned almost any spanish. And she needs to find work to have money but its pretty much impossible because she doesn`t speak spanish and she`s a woman so she can`t just work in construction or something with all the haitian guys. The people that she lives with are other haitians that are already helping here because there paying her rent for her but cant to do anything else than that. so pretty much that stinks and we are pretty much the only people that she has in chile. I don`t exactly know why she came or what her plan was but right now we are doing to best we can to help her.
Wow mom aren`t you impressed by my letter ;)
I love you and have a great week
Love Elder Austin
