Week #31, March 8, 2017

Hey mom your story sounds pretty amazing.  That's amazing that you were able to have that kind of experience listening to the spirit.

For us the water was only off for two days but for a couple days after we weren`t suppose to drink the water but at least we had something. You realize how important water is, it is a lot easier to go with out power than water.  Chile has been pretty crazy first over a month of fires and then two much rain up north. I'm just waiting for the earthquake.

Everything is going pretty well in Chile. This past week we got a ward mission leader called, he is an haitiano that left Haiti and lived in the Dominican republic for a few years where he joined the church and also learned  some Spanish and now he is here in Chile as our ward mission leader.

Right now we are working on a project in the mission to clean up a lot of the records. We received a list of the names of all the people who have ever been baptized in our ward. We now have to go through and find most of these people because they are almost all inactive and a lot of them have probably moved or died and the church has no idea since they weren`t active so now we are looking for all these people so the church knows where to send the records. Our list has almost 900 names.
Another thing that happened last week was that we had changes but nothing happened so I will be with Elder Gehring for another 6 weeks.  Elder Riofono, from the other companionship in our ward did leave and Elder Conceicao from Brazil is thew new guy in our ward.

Last week we also had stake conference for the stake El Bosque and Elder Texiera the area president came and to the meeting. We first had the priesthood session at 8 in the morning. And I guess I looked "tired"(If you can believe that ;) in the meeting and I was definitely siting way to close but Elder Texiera called me out and then started having me help him and answer all sorts of questions for him.  After the priesthood session we had the normal regular session for everyone and during that session I randomly got called out to go bear my testimony in stake conference. So the lesson is don`t fall asleep in a meeting with a general authority.

Church was also good this Sunday.  We had 48 people attend which is the highest I have ever seen in the mission yet!  Also Junior got the aronic priesthood this week and two other youth in the ward Paul and Mauri got the Melchizedek priesthood. School also started this week and we helped Mauri give a back to school blessing to his sister.
Thanks for everything, I love you, you are the greatest mom ever, have a great week!
Love Elder Austin
