hey mom its great that you guys are enjoying summer and you have your tomatoes. I don`t know what it will be like to eat them with you when I get back since I`m only used to eating tomatoes in chile so maybe I won`t like tomatoes in the US.  You`ll have to let me know how california and josh`s wedding goes.  It is still going to be weird that he is married, I still haven`t seen him and now he changed.  This past week we weren`t able to find Jefferson but this past week we taught Gina the other Haitian. We taught her at church during the classes. 1 we had to take advantage of being with Benisoit so he could help and 2 she wouldn't understand anything anyway if she went to the classes so it was a win win.  In that lesson we set a baptism date with her.  We also got a new bishop called this sunday. Our old bishop was called from another ward and now they called someone from our ward.  He was the second Counselor and he is 33 so he's cool, he wasn`t...

hey mom! This past week we got a new investigator named Jefferson, he is a Haitian.  He actually lived in the other sector and when I was in that trio a little while but with E Medina and E Concecao we went and taught a Haitian in their sector and Jefferson was living there two and came up and talked to me because he spoke a little english and I`m obviously gringo. The other guys in the other side of the ward started teaching him a little bit but then he moved and they couldn't`t find him but we found him in our sector and now he is ours and we are teaching him now. We taught him in spanish though even though he speaks a little english because he speaks spanish ok too. and so I can teach him with my comp we have to do it in spanish and I actually don`t know how to teach in english either.  This week we also found out about changes and I will be staying here with E topalda for another change. so I will be here for at least another 6 weeks.  I send some pictures thi...

It was great talking to Nathan on Sunday.  We got to talk to him for about 2 hours.  He also bore his testimony in Spanish. In my letter this week I told him I found the Mother's Day card he wrote me from last year.  It said  "Happy Mother's Day.....for Mother's day I am going to go one week without complaining. love, Nathan"  Hey greatest mom -that was a pretty great mothers day card that I gave you last year.  but look at my improvement 10 months without complaining.  Well I just talked to yall and nothing much has happened since I talked to you because I got sick and actually right I after I finished talking in the skype I lost my voice and couldn`t talked but today I am feeling better so don`t worry!! :)  We did have the zone conference yesterday and for the meeting the theme was the importance of the holy ghost in missionary work. I`m going to write longer letters but there isn`t much to say this week but next week...

This week its been colder but all the chilenos think we are in Antarctica, everyone is getting mad at me when its slightly cloudy and I don`t walk out like like and Eskimo.  I got my package yesterday! hola wonderful mom. yeah its getting a lot cooler in chile especially at night. Yeah there are tons of people from Haiti here in Santiago at least. it will be interesting to see what the culture will be like in couple years when all the haitians have more time here and speak spanish better.  yesterday we had a lesson with gina the investigator but our translator couldn`t go and so we went alone and we couldn`t really teach because of this but we went and all the haitians living there taught us a little creole. In haitian houses there are always a bunch of people living there, like 15 or more in the house. I don`t really now if im really going to learn but if you see like a creole to spanish/english dictionary that could be cool. I still haven`t got my package so hopefully next week it gets here. Yes we can still leave a couple times a year to go to the temple. I need to go I haven`t been in a while. I don`t know about skype yet at what times can you guys do it? ...

Clip from the news on April 25:  A major earthquake of magnitude 7.1 struck off the west coast of Chile on Monday, rocking the capital Santiago and briefly causing alarm along the Pacific Coast but not producing any serious damage. Hey mom!! I don`t know if I`ll have more experiences with earthquakes than you because I don`t even feel the earthquakes. There were actually two this week the first one was a couple days earlier and I was sleeping through that one and this last one I was in the street and I had no idea and didn`t feel anything.  I think a dog might have been attacking me at that time. But after everyone starting asking if we had felt the earthquake and I had no idea.  What I have heard is that this one was stronger than the last one and lasted longer so I have no idea how I missed it.   Yeah it rained a little bit and we gathered the water but they never cut the water.  No I haven`t got the package yet.  When is josh getting ...

Nathan's P-day was moved from Wednesday to Thursday this week because of the Chilean Census yesterday. It was the census yesterday and we had to stay in the house until we were counted and nothing would be open and we had just had that pday a few weeks ago when we had to stay inside so they changed it to today. It was pretty crazy that I got the stuff returned back in my wallet last week but the story continued this week.   During the week we knocked on someones door and a guy came out and I started to talk and he looked at my tame tag and stopped me and asked me if I had lost my documents, he then told me that he was the guy that had returned the contents of my wallet and we just happened to find him.  He told me that someone had thrown the contents of the wallet in his patio and on one of the papers he found the address and returned the stuff.  We talked to him for a little while and he wasn`t very interested but he was a really nice guy that returne...
